The 3-Ingredient Tofu Sauce You’ll Make Every Week
Tofu has a reputation for being plain, but that’s really the point. Its mild flavor makes it the perfect canvas for bold sauces, especially ones that come together in minutes. When dinner needs to happen quickly, a good sauce can turn a simple block of tofu into something that actually feels like a meal.
This one keeps things almost absurdly simple. With just a few pantry staples and a generous spoonful of Mama Teav’s Hot Garlic Chili Crisp, you get a sauce packed with garlic, heat, and crunchy texture. It coats crispy tofu beautifully, soaking into every edge and giving the dish real depth without adding any extra work.
So grab your favorite tofu; we recommend the Organic Miso Tofu from Hodo, and let's dig into this easy-to-make sauce.

Sauce Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Mama Teav’s Hot Garlic Chili Crisp (Original or Spicy)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
Instructions
- Pat the tofu dry and cut it into cubes or thick slices.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the tofu until golden and crisp on most sides.
- In a small bowl, stir together Mama Teav’s Hot Garlic Chili Crisp, rice vinegar, and soy sauce.
- Pour the sauce over the hot tofu and toss gently until everything is coated and glossy.
- Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
The chili oil brings fat, heat, crunch, and aromatics. The soy sauce adds salt and depth. The vinegar brightens everything, so it doesn’t feel heavy. It’s the kind of sauce you start making out of convenience and then keep coming back to because it just works. The crunchy garlic, savory umami, and steady heat from Mama Teav’s chili crisp turn tofu into a dinner you’ll actually look forward to.
