Furikake Hot Garlic Snack Mix

Ingredients

Dry Mix
4 cups Rice, Corn, or Wheat Chex
4 cups Honeycomb cereal
4 cups Crispix cereal
4 cups Bugles chips
You can use any combination of cereal, chips, or pretzels, but this mix delivers the most satisfying crunch.
Sauce
2 sticks butter
½ cup corn syrup, honey, or maple syrup
½ cup sugar
½ cup neutral oil (grapeseed, canola, vegetable, or avocado)
¼ cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons Mama Teav’s Mild Hot Garlic


1 bottle nori goma furikake

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F.
  2. Combine all dry cereal and chips in an oversized bowl. Make sure it is large enough to toss thoroughly.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter.
  4. Add corn syrup, sugar, oil, and soy sauce. Whisk until smooth and fully combined.
  5. Remove from heat and whisk in Hot Garlic.
  6. Drizzle half the sauce over the cereal mixture. Sprinkle with half the furikake and toss well.
  7. Repeat with remaining sauce and furikake.
  8. Spread evenly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 1 hour, tossing every 15 minutes to ensure even coating.
  10. Let cool completely before serving. Crunch intensifies as it cools.
